Center For Policy Analysis

Horn-Afric is an independent policy research institute dedicated to advancing cross-border solutions for peace, resilience, and inclusive development in the Horn of Africa Region. We operate at the intersection of research, policy innovation, and institutional strengthening — generating evidence, shaping reform agendas, and building the technical capacity necessary for sustainable regional cooperation. We exist to address the deeply interconnected challenges the Horn of Africa faces.

Mission Statement

Horn-Afric exists to generate evidence, foster dialogue, and shape integrated policies that address the nexus of fragile governance, conflict, climate shocks, and forced migration in the Horn of Africa.

Hassan Diriye: Executive Director and Founder

Hassan Diriye is a seasoned policy and development communication specialist with decades of experience in governance & rights, conflict, climate change, and migration across the Horn of Africa. He has worked with leading international organizations as a community-based governance and rights specialist and researcher, and with the Government of Kenya as a climate change communications and advocacy expert.

Passionate about leveraging research, development communication, and advocacy, Hassan drives systemic change and advances innovative policy solutions to address the region’s most pressing challenges.
